My client is a global player with a big presence in the APAC region. This business unitis focused& around the Customer Profitability spaceand they are looking to take their Business Intelligence capabilities to the next stage & are building a bespoke predictive analytics tool in order to do this.
I am looking for applications from candidates who have strong statistical/ numerical academics (eg Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research etc) and have solid (eg 2yrs experience) commercial experience ina role with a strong Statistical Modelling element. My client using SAS and so successful candidates will need at least 18m commercial SAS BASE experience. I am looking for candidates who can build high quality statistical models but who are also innovative & able to apply creative thinking to their processes.
Working closely with an external vendor, internal stakeholders & technical BI/Datawarehousing teamsyou will be involved in the design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring & support of various SAS based Models. You will also in effect provide an internal Consulting service to the business - providing guidance on architecture, algorithms & data and data quality generally. Other projects will be driven by client demand for specific analysis relating to issues/problems or by the need for greater insight from the large datasets they posssess.
You will be delivering Statistical/Analytical Modelling relating to customer segmentation, churn propensity, market basket analysis, anomaly detection, offer & response propensity & demand forecasting. You will be expected to use your expertise with large datasets (large datawarehouses etc) to drive knowledge discovery and be involved in ETL activites.
With this being a new arena for my client the opportunity exists for you to formulate the analytical datasets that wil be used to support Statistical Modelling as well as devising solutions for monitoring & reporting on model performance, quality etc. The opportunity exists for you to define and build these processes & develop re-usable processes/methodologies to ensure future Analytical/Statistical Models are built in a structured fashion. In many ways this really is a greenfield site with regards to predicitive modelling/ analytics & this presents candidates with the ability & ambition the chance to take on what is most definately a challenging position but one that offers equally a great opportunity to provide the framework for predicitive modelling in this company moving forward.
With this a new area for the business you must be an advocate of data driven analytics & modelling, able to embed this within the business via appropriate presentations & training etc & be able to alter your communication style to engage non-technical audiences.
If you have the relevant academics & commercial experience with large data-sets, SAS programming & Statistical Modelling skills and are looking for a role out of banking etc & in a new and exciting industry then this could the role for you. It is expected that during your previous project work you have used techniques such as regression, decision trees, rule induction, neural networks, clustering, ensemble methods, stochastic methods, monte carlo, conjoint analysis ec.
Ideally the successful applicant would have experience with formal project management, data mining and development methodologies (eg Prince II, CRISP-DM, RUP) although full training in these areas will be available to the right candidates. With my client looking at serious functionality builds & deployments in potentially over 50 countries this really does represent a unique opportunity in todays banking/finance dominated analytical market.
In return you will be working for a market-leader, in a role with a tremendous level of scope for the right candidate to influence the predictive modelling for this business moving forward. This is high profile, in a growing industry and with a friendly & supportive working environment. Excellent training & fabulous career opportunities as this area grows. Interested candidates should apply ASAP with an up to date CV (word format) or call Declan on 02 9223 0066 for a confidential discussion.
