Object of the Game: SCORE successful project outcomes by leading and managing multiple streams of technology and business related projects COACH and support the IT team members in project management delivery and project disciplinesStretching/Warm-Up: Before you rush the field, ensure you have… Played college ball: Tertiary technology qualification or related business discipline necessary Summer Sports Camp: Project Management qualification desirable Played the game…a lot: Proven experience in project/development management in delivering technology projects Sold some tickets: Retail knowledge is desirable Studied the charts: Knowledge of Service Delivery (SD) and Service Management (SM) (i.e. ITIL) Played for the big leagues: Delivery experience in a complex IT/technology systems businessThe Game Plan: How You’ll Win that Championship Ring Run a Marathon, not a Sprint: Manage all phases of development, including scoping, requirement analysis, system design, specification, development, testing, implementation, project warranty and operational readiness Watch the Clock: Ensure projects run on budget, on time and meet expectations Strong Defence: Identify and assess risks; develop and implement strategies to reduce those risks Coaching: Provide support in project management philosophies and methodologies to other IT team members; supervise and administer work undertaken by contractors Help Head Coach: Recommend project office/program or project methodology (SDLC) improvements to GM IT Subbing: Deputise for GM IT when necessary Effective Passing: Ensure operational handover is comprehensive and complete Why did we Win/Lose? Run reviews after project completion/abandonment; prepare reports regarding achievementsHE SHOOTS, HE SCORES!
