**PART TIME opportunity for passionate and experienced individual to move into that supports indigenous individuals with mental illness to work towards independent living and achieving recovery through outreach, access to community services and social connection**
Parkhouse Bell is currently recruiting for an Indigenous Specialist for our client in the Ipswich area. Our client provides various services to support individuals with a mental illness, physical or intellectual disability. One of the services they offer in the Ipswich area is the Personal Helpers and Mentors (PHaMs) program where they provide individualised support to Indigenous Australians with mental illness to achieve recovery through outreach, access to community services and increased community participation.
The Indigenous Specialist role involves working as part of a team to deliver community based support for Indigenous Australians with a mental illness. The role specifically entails case management of a group of participants and working with them to assist them in living independently and linking up to community activities, recreational activities, education and training opportunities and employment opportunities.
We are looking for people with a good knowledge of working in the Community Services, Mental Health Services and/or Disability Services arena, ideally with experience and knowledge in delivering community services and support to Indigenous Australians living with a mental illness. Qualifications in Psychology, Mental Health, Behavioural Science, Social Welfare or other relevant fields are highly regarded.
This is a permanent part time position and is classified under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award. For this position, the organisation pays a salary above the Award rate plus superannuation on a pro rata basis. Salary sacrificing options are offered by this employer also.
