An immediate opening has arisen due to continued work load within this leading construction company who have the capacity to build projects to $150M +.

They are looking for someone with passion for working in the construction industry and a proven track record working for either a leading top tier or a well respected medium tier builder.

You will report to a Project Manager on site while also liaising with the OH&S Manager. You need to possess a minimum Cert IV in OH&S or a Diploma in OH&S and an equivalent for environmental management. You will also have a Senior First Aid certificate and ideally you will also have completed the OH&S Risk assessment for supervisor’s course.

On a practical level you will have extensive experience of working on building sites, a keen knowledge of the OHS Act 2000, OHS regulation 2001 and a basic knowledge of construction specific acts, codes and regulations.

You will be very well versed in safety and environmental issues and you will also possess an understanding of plant operation and requirements pertaining to plant use and condition.

The first project that you will take this leading role on is a $90M project which is particularly high profile. Ideally you will have previously worked on construction projects $50M + as a Health Safety & Environmental Coordinator.

As an individual you are organised, focused and disciplined. You have the ability to not only create a cohesive working environment around you but you are able to draw the interest of those around you so that the whole team is bought into the importance of safety and environmental issues.

You are really passionate about safety and you believe that it is crucial to the success of the construction industry. You pride yourself in being able to seek out challenges before they become problems.

You are able to explain what you want to achieve in such a way that the whole team understands what you are trying to do. You love coming up with new initiatives to further enhance safety on site.

You are good with paper work and administration and you are confident when it comes to following systems and using computers.
